Long time no posts from each other. Just wondering how you are doing? I never went in for my last follow up at 6 months so I am going in next week. Its almost been a year since my smartlipo and I feel that I need some touch ups. Might even talk to him about my inner thighs now.
How are your lumps? Have you gone back in?
Just thought it would be nice to catch up.
Congrats on your decision. You are going to be so happy you did it. Check out my profile. Im a long distance runner and no amount of running would make those saddlebags go away. We are also about the same size. Go check out my pics....I need to add 4mth post op pics. But I am very happy with my results. I am also thinking of going in this fall and doing my inner thighs.
Dont worry about the pain...its not to bad. The oozing is weird and milking them the first 24 hours isnt fun but its only a short amount of time. After that you will be sore and tired. I suggest taking a few days off work for sure.
Good Luck...cant wait to see your pictures :)
KrisT-It sounds as if you are very educated with how food fuels the body. I too have read alot and am a huge fitness buff. I believe everyone should eat healthy and exercise not only for weight reasons but for overall body health.
BUT some people just have hereditary problem areas where diet and exercise don't do the trick. I am not over weight and I am a marathon runner, I lift weights and I swim. I still had saddle bags and a banana roll. I was disproportionate. NO amount of exercise would get rid of it. I also know these areas can be around ones waist, back, tummy (as in LaurieKays case) etc. The only way to get rid of this type of fat is by surgery or acceptance of that part of your body. I also want to say that I used the same doctor as LaurieKay and he was an awesome doctor who does care about his patients.
Anyway I wish everyone to be healthy and exercise but for those who are tired of the stubborn areas that don't respond to diet and exercise, smartlipo is a great way to go. Find a good board certified surgeon and start feeling good about yourself.
LaurieKay, way to go on the new fitness plan!! But you are looking fantastic anyway :)
Wineylisa..Thanks for your comments! Do you have before and after pics up?
Thanks for sharing what your doctor said. Thats good to know. I know that some days I feel more swollen than others. It seems like if I workout or run I'm a bit more swollen but I guess that would make sense, right?!
I am now able to run without any spanx and very little pain. Its a tiny bit uncomfortable but by about the 1st mile its gone.
Good luck to you on your healing. Keep me updated..since our age and procedures are so close it will be fun to compare our healing process.
MilGal...congrats on the surgery!!! The first few weeks are hard. The pain, swelling and weird numb feeling DOES go away.
Its so hard when we all workout soo hard and still see the same body shape in the mirror. It has been very liberating to know that no matter how hard we work those areas won't go away with diet and exercise and only procedures like smartlipo is the only answer. It's not that we aren't working hard or trying.
As far as that lump I have...I think it may be going down very very slowly. I'm not noticing it as much. Either Im getting use to seeing it or its getting smaller..not real sure. HA
How are you feeling?? Don't rush to go workout..take your time to heal.
