It is TRUE there are a lot of success stories - mine was a success story 2 years ago at Burlington,MA with a doctor who was really badmouthed.by one person in particular. It did give me some doubts, and I checked further. While her complaints may have been legitimate, no one knows another's circumstances or situation. When my husband & I did meet the doctor, I felt much more comfortable. My husband & I agreed on his expertise. I was 77 at the time, and altho my husband did not think it necessary for me:*, he respected my desire. He took care of me without complaint (there is a lot to do after the procedure) but healed well. So much depends upon the expertise of the doctor, and your own ability to heal well.
There are a lot of sad & scary stories to be sure. A phrase I use often in a variety of peoples circumstances is "There but for the grace of God go I". Many many years ago I heard a neighbor say it and since then I have also.
The choice between a competent doctor and a nice one is easy.
I was fortunate. I was confident that I had both when I chose Dr. Alex for my surgery.
I was shocked & saddened to hear that Dr. James C. Alex died in an accident last month. I do not know anything else about his death except for what I read here.
I know Sabego has had a really bad time of it with her Lifestyle Lift, and appreciate her heart expressing her condolences for the doctor's passing.
Last August, 2011 I went to LSL in Burlington for a free consultation. I brought a very dear friend whom I trust to be honest, and to help me listen. I did a LOT of research on different doctors & even paid a $150.00 fee for a consultation with a doctor. (One of the conclusions I came to is that other doctors will only do the procedure in a hospital (added costs) and will have an anesthetist available if needed. While it is good & comforting to have a hospital available in case of an emergency, LSL in Burlington is just across the street from Lahey Clinic.
It was not until the end of January, 2012 that I had my procedure done-just the cheek & neck area. No money is paid until you see the doctor ($500.00), and then you have 3 days to rescind the contract. After going through a lot of research (& prayer), and consulting with another doctor whom we had to pay, my husband & I agreed to choose Dr. Alex and very happy we did. Where Sebago gives a one star rating, I would have to give four to five stars. Everyone with whom I came in contact in Burlington was very
professional, warm and caring. The next day after the procedure the patient goes to LSL to have the bandages changed. I was told not to hesitate to call or email with any problem or questions. Couple of months later had my two month checkup and to have stitches removed. The clinical technician does that & she was wonderful.
From what I understand, it is not usual that LSL allows any time for the doctor to see their patient at "checkup" time. My technician honored my request to See Dr. Alex & said that she would see if he was available. I was very happy to show him what a great job he did. He was just so warm & humble & joked with my husband.
I am sorry that no one else will be able to enjoy the expertise of Dr. James C. Alex.
anyone know what COD is? Just read (for the most part as it's so repetitious). actually want my husband to read it, but my first thought is, this is one sided.
