OMG! Dr Richard Rand of Seattle posts often on Real Self and I had no idea that he made his patients sign a release form! Please, whomever is at Real Self monitoring this site, please, please, please add a side-bar that shows which doctors require gag orders or release forms or whatever you want to call them. I was going to get a consult with this guy but would not consider it now. Doctors are nervous that people will post negative opinions on line; but, their attempt to manipulate their reviews but only posting what compliments them is a violation of free speech and an attempt to fool the public. Shame, shame, shame!
Come to OKC and have this done with my doctor! Many doctors who are less experienced treat very conservatively in order not to cause the dark spot to scar and appear white when it heals. For that we can only be grateful! But Dr John is amazing! My husband also has his spots removed and neither of us has ever had a spot whiten or return. My sister had it done on the back of her hands in Atlanta and said it was painful. I don't know what she paid but you certainly paid alot. Come to OKC when the weather cools off and see Dr John. It takes about 2 months to get an appointment but he's the real deal. When you make your appointment let them know what treatment you are requesting. Some insurance companies cover it if you are at risk for skin cancer and this is preventative.
I bought an inexpensive pair of clear glasses with a slight tint so people could see my eyes indoors, but not so clear that they could see the imperfections. I checked myself out in the mirror and it was a comfortable disguise for indoors! Wrapping the scarf loosely around my neck worked, too, since the ears and other stitches were covered by my hair. It's amazing how easy it is to conceal! Keep us posted!
I don't know how much work you are having done, but I've been through face neck and eyes twice (a lift and 3 months later a revision) and I think 9 days especially with travel may be okay for how you look if there are no complications but you may be pretty tired. Bring a stylish scarf and tinted glasses. It does wonders. Except for weird eyelids, I had very little bruising. Mostly just lumps and bumps after the first week. Best wishes to you!
