I think you should stop exercising for a while. My PS warned me that swelling will increase every time I exercise and adviced me to use my girdle while working out. Try ice packs at night. My PS says that every one of us heals at a different pace. Maybe there is nothing wrong. I am almost 5 months post-op and swelling comes and goes, like a yoyo. Good luck!!!
Dear Jjamie37:
When we decide to make the decision of having a TT,we engage in a long journey. We know that our body will never be the same. Our bodies are all different and depending on that, the recovery will be very different for each of us. I am 3 months post-op and still have significant swelling and pain in the area. I don't know if you have had the opportunity of watching a video of the surgery. You can find it in you tube. This is a major surgery in which all the nerves that are below the skin are cut. There is always the possibility that some of them could not recover completely and you will have numbness, burning and pain in the area. That is a chance that you take when you decide to have the procedure done. Maybe there is nothing wrong with the work the surgeon did, it's just your body's way of healing. Consider to have a second opinion from another PS. My very own personal opinion is that legal action and money will never make you feel better. You will not get back what you have lost. If you have been mutilated, then legal action would be necessary. If not, get a second opinion and then decide. Try eating papaya, which helps a lot with swelling. Use ice packs every night. Avoid sodas and watch the percent of sodium in the food you eat. Give yourself massages in circular motion in the area every day and consider lymphatic draining massages. Hope you can feel better every day!!!!
