Hi again -- my surgery was on Sept. 12, so I am 8 weeks post-op tomorrow. I think it took until just last week until things inside and out started feeling sort of normal again. Still little "twinges" from time to time and tire out in the evenings.
By the way, our situation really is a lot bigger than just a routine TT... I had a post-op nurse who told me that they considered my surgery on par with open heart surgery! Glad I heard that *after* the surgery... Sending you all my best wishes for good healing!!
Wow -- I am so glad that I'm not the only one still checking in here! And, it sounds like I am in the same place as everyone else. Generally feeling great, still tire a bit in the evenings. Totally flat tummy in the am, a bit poofy in the pm. I haven't really gotten back to working out (just walking everyday). I go for my 8 week post-op tomorrow and am looking forward to being released to work out and stop wearing the girdle-type garment. Still numb from BB down, but it sounds like this is normal -- could last up to a year and may never return completely and I am really OK with that!
Best wishes and happy continued healing to you all!!
Are any September tummy-tuckers are still checking this thread? Anyway, I am 8 weeks post-op this Monday and am generally feeling pretty much back to normal (a bit of swelling at the end of the day, but not too bad), fitting into all my old clothes, but looking better in them(!)... However, I still feel numb in a little triangle from just above my BB down to the incision line (about 5" wide at the bottom of the triangle). It's not a big deal, just a bit disconcerting. And, I wondered if everyone else experiences this... Also, will I ever get the feeling back in that area, I wonder? Or, is it going to be a small, permanent price to pay for the otherwise great results? Just wondering... Thanks!
Hi - don't know what your before pics looked like, but you look *great* now!! And, I can relate (somewhat) to what you went through... I had my TT along with major repair work 'down-there' (prolapsed uterus, bladder, rectocele, enterocele, perineum repair and a&p vaginal repair). It is definitely a much bigger procedure than TT alone. But, I am sorry you did not have good pain managmement -- that is just not right - not when there are so many great meds out there!! Well, I guess the good news is that it sounds like you are through the worst of it and just need to concentrate on healing the rest of the way now. I can truly say that I am thrilled to have had it all done at once -- and I hope you are, too, at the end of it all. I wish you only the best going forward!! You certainly deserve it! : )
Hi Pasadena, I can relate to your BB situation, as I ended up with dog ears on either side of my incision and also have to wait 6 months for revision surgery to remove them. Like you, I don't mind, as I know this will be a simple office procedure and everything will look great in the end! I was 4 weeks this past Monday and can truly attest that this is a slow process!! I only just started sleeping on my sides again this week, and still sometimes find it a bit uncomfortable. I had a little emotional set back last week, just felt like it was taking so long to feel normal again -- still don't feel entirely normal, but seeing some light at the end of this tunnel! Swelling has finally gone down enough to wear my old clothes and some of them are even a little looser -- yippee! I hope you are continuing to feel better each day. : )
