The Aquaphor caused me more problems because it contained the heat in the skin. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone. Ask the doctor/clinic for the post-gel they put on your face when you leave - it is oilier but your skin can still breathe while staying moisturized. I'm now using Cetaphil and when the itching is really bad, I put some Aveeno on it for a while.

I think the Aquaphor may be more of the problems than the actual laser. It's kind of like the myth to put butter on a burn - it actually causes a deeper burn. Same with Aquaphor.

Thanks! The staff and doctor have been wonderful. I have had hives from heat before and that appears to be what happened, especially after I put on the Aquaphor. We switched to another gel and I had a positive change in just a few hours. I still have red bumps all over and my glands are still swollen, especially the ones under my chin (it kind of looks like my face has melted and dropped) and the eyes. But the Dr. states it's just edema and will go away - just not sure when. She won't let me have anymore laser/heat treatments - which made me feel that I came before the money!

I finally started peeling and a few spots are pink and healthy looking - I even noticed some reduction in my discoloration which is great!

I'm just glad I chose a place that cared!
