Sooo glad I did it too ! I'm 54 years old & my only regret is I didn't do it years ago! I'm 3 weeks post op now (full TT with breast augmentation) & feeling great .... still a little stiff & sore with some swelling but it really does get easier every day !
Leata...NO you're not insane !! You deserve to feel good about your body & if this is what it takes then so be it. Self image is sooooo very important! My only regret is that I didn't do this years ago! Although I was never what one would consider overweight, I always had a "problem tummy" ....even before I had my children ( 28 & 30 years ago YIKES!! lol) When I would talk about having a TT people would say I was "crazy... you don't need that"! I camouflaged very well but deep down I was soooo depressed & self conscious :( Well...not anymore! I am so excited & anxious to see the final results... swelling is diminishing day by day & my incision is already quite faint in the front but darker in the hip areas...but it's only been 3 weeks! :) I hope you will have help with your children for the first week at least .... I did think to myself, "how do women with small children do this ?" But it's amazing what we women can do !!! :) Elective yes ... but sooooooo worth it ! Once again...Good Luck :)
Hi leata ! Please don't worry ...if I can go through this (full TT with breast augmentation) anyone can ! :) I just turned 54 last week & I am now 3 weeks post op . You'll do just fine sweetie ! The first week I was pretty much "down for the count" & at times wondered "what the heck did I do ?" Yes, there were a few moments of sadness ....nothing major . But let me tell you ... by the 2nd week that was the turning point for me... I actually went to my nephews wedding ! Took it real easy but managed the ceremony, dinner & speeches then off to bed I went ! lol
I currently have some swelling ...especially in the pubic area , which I ice off & on during the day with frozen peas wrapped in a tea towel! Also, slight burning & a little pulling. Everyday day it really does get easier & easier ! HONESTLY :)
Good Luck !
Hi !
I'm 54 years old and 3 weeks post op with full TT & breast augmentation. First week was brutal and left me wondering "what have I done'! Week 2 was the turning point for me.... actually went to a wedding on day 16 post op ! Currently still have slight burning & soreness (muscles & nerves healing) and some swelling . Started icing (frozen peas!) yesterday for brief periods twice daily 20 minutes in the morning & another 20 in the evening and noticed a big change this morning.... especially in the pubic area! :) Can stand straight most of the time but by evening I'm starting to slouch over :(
