I am a promoter of physical therapy as part of the recovery process. Strengthen that muscle slowly to help the implant find a new home. Ask your PS or surgery to write a script for therapy. I'm a believer!!

Make your PS listen to you when you think you can add more. 120 is alot. when did you get the first 120? ... there isnt a rule you have to get the expansion done every week. You are the boss of you so if you cant take more or its uncomfortable dont add to your discomfort. I still feel pressure on my right side and i have had my silicone exchange. Good posture and start lifting 1-2 pound weights. When i went to physical therapy and they watched my weight lifting to slowing increase the strength of my pectoral muscle i felt 100% better. I still lift my weights, and if I take a break, i can feel it when i try to lift something a little more than i'm used to.

sorry it didnt work with the expanders for you. I had mammosite radiation in 2007 and then had my mastectomy in 2011. We were super cautious with the right side reconstruction and i still have scar tissue isses and during the first surgery discharge i had a bit of infection and my PS slapped a wound vac on to help with the healing. I use alot of lotions and creams daily and kept my skin as soft as i could to help with the expansion. Plus i upped my vitamin intake. Wishing you well with the Latiss flap.
  • Posted to Are There Nipple Implants for Breast Reconstruction? on 24 Sep 2012
No one answered the question. Is there a prosthetic for the nipple reconstruction. Something surgically implanted. The Art---Doesnt always work and will shrink away in time. The pasties are just that. Fake stick ons. Alloderm. Although an option will also (as i'm told be absorbed into the body. Although you're own cells are to adhere to it and keep the shape.. but for how long.

I am looking for a surgically implantable areola and nipple prosthesis. My surgeon blamed my disolving nipples on "my skin" I'm so disappointed in how i look. I thought the point of reconstruction was to make me feel good. I look in the mirror and see freak. Suffered thru the nipple reconstruction surgery an cried for a week and .... The have shrunk to mini chocolate chips. Horrible.

so Alloderm is an option but I'd rather have something more permanant. Implantable. Symetrical and something that isnt going to shrink up and disappear.
