When I went into her office she just took a syringe and took out the fluid right there. The first time she took out 60cc's. I made the mistake of looking at the needle (it was so big it looked like a joke syringe you see on halloween!). I almost fainted in her office. I never knew I was such a wimp lol. The second time she did freeze the area a little. It didnt hurt at all to be honest, she just put the needle in and gently pushed around a bit. I went today and its looking much better and didnt have to get drained. My Dr could tell just by feeling that there was alot of fluid in there I suppose your dr would be able to know if thats the best option for you. My dr did say that just by putting a needle into my breast there was the possiblity it could lead to infection, since you have an infection anyway your dr might not want to do it. But Im not a dr he will know whats best! Let me know what happens. Hope you feel better soon.
Im so glad it went well for you! Im 4 weeks post op tomorrow and finally just this weekend I feel better. Its 10pm right now and its amazing that im not sitting here with aching neck and shoulders like I used to do every night. I was pushing a double stroller today with my guys in it and was so happy my shoulders werent in pain!
Best decision ever. Hope your week at work gets a little easier. Youll be feeling normal in no time!
I feel your pain! Good for you for firing him, he sounds like a peice of work. I also had a very bad experience about 7 years ago. I went to see a ps and as I was waiting to see him another patient ran out in tears and he was laughing outloud, he was still laughing as he came into my room. He never even looked at by chest ( I didnt even take off my winter coat) but I got approved for the surgery and was told we would just look at me the morning of the surgery. Needless to say I had saw red flags and called it off. Its so improtant for people to know they have every right to ask questions and to shop around. I have a wonderful ps who answered every question I had
with patience.
Good luck with the new ps, Im sure your gut instinct will lead you to the right one!
