I am planning on having ultherapy in next couple of weeks but also need to redo my botox & want fillers injections for the troughs under my eyes. My doctor advised waiting for a couple of months after ultherapy to do the botox & filler. She said that ultherapy will lift the skin so it could impact the way the botox & filler will look. So Im gonna wait. All that to say that I would check with my doctor to see what the impact might be on your filler
Dear Lauri46--I had a second DOT done on 3/6/09; the first was 11/20/08. I think the first one firmed my skin a little, but who knows? On the second one, the doc went much deeper and used a stronger setting. Since I am still healing from the second one it is hard to tell if it was worth it. I have been told by my doc and the DOT marketing rep that it takes 6 months to see the real results. Even tho my skin is PINK it is very smooth, but I can tell that it is still swollen. We'll see. I have tried a few things-IPL photofacial laser, Refirme laser & now this. The IPL & Refirme possibly firmed my skin but I'm not really sure. However I know people that have had IPL & they got amazing results. I think it just depends on the person & the doc's skills. I am expecting to see improvements in my skin with this second round of DOT because of the more aggressive treatment. I'll keep you posted.
JulieW--One thing I noticed from the dot therapy was that it dried up my skin A LOT! This emphasizes the crepeyness and the lines under my eyes. It is almost 4 months since I had my treatment & I still can see lines of dots when I look into a magnifying mirror I use to apply makeup. I think that this means your skin is still healing, but I'm not sure. My experience overall tells me that it takes several months to totally heal. And remember that you won't see the effects of the new collagen growth for at least a month and a half.
Juliew--The smoothness that I first saw is not quite the same--I had my dot therapy done around 11/20/08. My crepey wrinkles are back, but not as bad as before. I still can see little indentations in my skin that I know are from the dot therapy because they are so evenly spaced, just like the dot laser. As time goes by I do see them diminish. I have to admit that the dot therapy is not the cureall I had hoped for, but I do see imprvement to my skin. It is tighter, smoother and less blotchy. I have to keep reminding myself that it is not a face lift nor is it Fraxel which requires several weeks of downtime. Having said all of that, I am fgiving it one more shot in March when I have a second & last dot therapy. Hope this helps.
