  • Posted to HATED the Results...overloaded with Tiny WHITE BUMPS!!! on 12 Oct 2007

Ok ladies if you read my comment I would like to inform you that I believe I finally figured out what these TINY WHITE BUMPS ARE...MILIA!!! Although I am still dissatisfied with the results of the restylane injections in my lips, because they are basically the same size as when I originally went in. I am happy to know that the white bumps weren't caused by the restylane! Milia is caused by skin care/ lip care products that are too thick, the thickeness causes a barrier for your skin, and the barrier doesn't allow your skin to to exfoliate naturally, causing your oil glands to get clogged up, which results in little pin point white bumps on or underneath the skin. Milia can also be caused by sun exposure and the thickening of your skin, in the same sense, the thickness of your skin causes the normal exfoliation process to be more difficult, and thus creates white bumps....MILIA! Manual exfoliation with beads and such can help this condition, as well as a product with Alpha-hydroxy acid. If this doesn't rid you of Mila, then your best bet would be laser removal. I hope this helps anyone who has had a similiar problem. THANKS!

I was just informed that what I thought were tiny white bumps caused from the restylane, are actually a condition called Milia. You may possibly have Milia, which is caused from skin care products that are too thick and cause a barrier for your skin. The barrier makes it so your skin can't naturally exfoliate itself, which causes the skins oil glands to get plugged, and in turn form tiny white bumps on or underneath the skin. Milia is also caused by sun exposure and the thickening of the skin. Hopefully this helps a little.

I had restylane injected in my lips six weeks ago. Initially I left the doctors office happy with my full pout, but no less then four days later little tiny white dots appeared all over my top lip. The dots look like they are under the skin, not raised at all, and are not itchy, red, or painful. THEY ARE VERY NOTICABLE THOUGH!!! I have met with the doctor since then and to my dismay, NO ANSWERS!!! If anyone has any ideas or suggestions as to what these white dots could br? It would be really appreciated! I will keep everyone posted if I ever figure out what this is, or if they, somehow, end up going away....WISH ME LUCK!!!
