Initially we were all skeptical after the initial training as we know it works but it was challenging to get to the temperature required and keep the patients comfortable. It seemed so easy: just roll it around the area to be treated. The company then sent in an advanced trainer who was amazing and taught us exactly how to perfect our technique to get to the temp needed and keep the patient comfortable. It has everything to do with moving the handpiece to the correct rhythm!!! Having done it myself on front of thighs and back of thighs there is a huge difference not only in comfort level but also in the result! Our patients share they really see a difference after just 2 sessions. We haven't had it long enough to get our after pictures but if patients happy that says a lot! I still have 2 more sessions but did see a difference after 1 solid session keeping the temp where it needed to be ( and I was comfortable the entire time with those high heats! ) If the patient is uncomfortable the practitioner is more than likely NOT doing something right. Again it seems so easy but there is a learning curve and takes some practice...but it appears to work. Of course it will not replace surgery and we still need to keep expectations in check. One last note: the grounding pads suck! Make sure to wipe area with alcohol and dry it first before applying to make it work best!!!
Big warning to all of you who are getting Exilis and the treatment being so hot it is uncomfortable. This is NOT how the device is to work as should feel like a warm hot stone massage. More heat does NOT mean better results. We are part of a huge laser center and have many devices. Safety is everything! If it burns that much you are risking necrosis!!! That is also NOT how the company trains!
Hey Brit,
Red Flag on your practitioner. We get excellent results here in Dallas at our laser center! It should be 'warm' but not burn or be uncomfortable. They are risking burning you!! Be careful!
