    Hello all,

I haven't post for a long time and wanted to share with all of you an update...

I had liposuction done some years ago (about 6 years ago or so) and gained a lot of weight (about 30 lbs). I had my inner thighs, outer thighs, knees, and butt done with liposuction which resulted in weight gain in the entire top of my body back, breasts, upper arms, stomach, and face). I fell into a big depression and stopped eating normally, cut all carbs, and started exercising a lot to lose the weight but nothing seemed to help me.

I did not like my body at all anymore and didn't know what to do. I went to a doctor because I wasn't feeling well and discover I had problems with my thyroid (really bad problems with it). He started me on iodine (natural) pills and started experiencing slowly but surely some weight loss.

In desperation and in big depression with my new unhappy and uneven body on my top, I consulted another Plastic Surgeon about another liposuction on my new undesired areas (my top). I then agreed to do LITTLE lipo on my breasts, upper arms, and stomach since they were very big and couldn't stand them anymore. Please be aware that I used the word LITTLE liposuction because it was a touch up non-aggressive one.

I can honestly say that I'm happy I did this second liposuction because i was deformed. My breasts went from size big C to a B. My arms now fit on shirt sleeves, and I don't look pregnant anymore.

All of this was done after years of thought and desperation. My FAT is now going to other places where i haven't had liposuction like love handles, pelvic area, neck, etc but since the liposuction wasn't aggressive, it's not too bad and feel much better about myself.

I DON'T RECOMMEND this for everyone, I believe our bodies work differently and I took I HUGE RISK by doing a second lipo.

By fixing my THYROID is helping me loose weight. After the first lipo I went up to 160 lbs and I'm now 147 lbs and hope to loose more. I'm still on thyroid treatment and it seems I will be for the rest of my life since my doctor says my condition is a chronic one.

The THYROID gland is part of the endocrine system which regulates our metabolism.

I just wanted to share my update if it helps anyone. Although I don't want to encourage anyone to go through a second liposuction since we may not have the same results and may only result in more weight gain.

Good luck to everyone and hope we can all find peace and comfort !

Sorry to hear about your stories, it's hard to even think about what you are going through. It is really sad to hear about more stories like mine and even worse. I too fell into a big depression and didn't like myself either afterwards, I also didn't recognize myself in the mirror.

My breasts are huge and saggy too, my arms are huge and also saggy, my flat stomach is completely gone and gained a 6 month old fetus-like fat on my stomach and can't get rid off it unless I starve and my face blewed up like a ballon and hate it.

People who knew me before stare at me and say "what happened to you? you've changed a lot!"

I can't believe surgeons are not aware of these possible results. They only tell you not to gain weight but the truth is that the weight comes back on its own and it CHANGES YOUR WHOLE LIFE FOREVER !

I went back to several surgeons for consultation for my weight gain and to see what was going on with my body but they ALL TOLD ME that it was my age, that the body doesn't react the same to weight loss as when we are younger. Even though I told them I was eating less and exercising more, I wasn't able to lose the weight, they just changed the topic and said goodbye :/ (so, I'm not sure whether they just want to cover something they know or they just simply don't know ?? kind of frustrating since they are the surgeons !!!

The reason why I started to write about my story is so others hear about it and be more informed when making these type of decisions.

We can at least help others be more informed or serve as a support group and know that we are not alone, that we are not crazy !!

PLEASE WRITE YOUR STORY, THIS HAS TO CHANGE !! Lets help others be more informed.

I wish you all the best and hope we can all find acceptance with ourselves.

Thanks, I know is not normal. I cannot eat like I used to without blowing up on my upper part of my body like my breasts, stomach, arms and back, it's depressing.

I've been to other liposuction surgeons and all of them say it has nothing to do with liposuction that is has to do with my age but I tell them when I did my liposuction I was a lot younger and started gaining the weight right after my liposuction surgery and then they don't want to take the subject anymore :/

I talked to one doctor though that I explained my situation and HE HAS BEEN THE ONLY THAT HAS LISTENED TO ME.. at first he said exactly the same thing as other doctors told me that the older we get the harder is to lose weight but I explained to this doctor that as soon as had my liposuction I started gaining the weight.

This doctor seemed somewhat to believed me and was intrigued and asked me other questions. I told him how I don't eat as much as I used to and can't enjoy the foods that I used to. He said it was a weird case and then I told him how I found this research that seems to come to the conclusion that when people do liposuction on the bottom part of their body (outter thighs, inner thighs, buttocks, hips, etc) the "deeper fat" (can't remember the professional word for it, sorry)seems to miss the "upper fat" that was taken out and that's when the problem comes of weight gain.

This doctor kind of agreed with this explaining it in more professional words. The sad part is that more research has not been done on this problem.

I'M NOT TRYING TO SCARE PEOPLE TO HAVE LIPOSUCTION SURGERY BECAUSE IF IT WASN'T FOR THE WEIGHT GAIN, I WOULD BE REALLY HAPPY WITH IT.

I JUST WOULD LIKE TO LET PEOPLE KNOW TO BE CAREFUL ON HOW MUCH FAT THEY TAKE OUT.

Yes, for example, in the morning and lunch I eat like an 100% natural beberage that includes many greens and fruits or eggs or a fruit coctail and for lunch a either eat meet, chicken, or fish with salad or something like that. At night I only eat a small portion of cereal.

My portions are small though, nothing big. I stay away from pastas, rice, bread, and tortillas or anything like that. I don't eat anything canned or fatening. I try to stay away from fast-food restaurants, I try to eat at home as much as I can. I do try to eat as healthy as possible.
