I started out as a J and really wanted to get down to a C. I am now 6 months out from my surgery and am at a DD. My surgeon says that with some weight loss (I can stand to lose about 20 lbs), I could probably drop at least one cup size, so that would put me at a D.
Anyway, I had a lot of freakout moments earlier on, but now I'm pretty comfortable with my size. I just keep reminding myself that regardless of the cup size, I am much happier with the way I look and have completely eliminated the daily headaches, backaches, and neck pain that I once experienced.
I don't know if you'll have the same feelings once you get to this point, but remember you still have a lot of swelling to get rid of over the next several months.
Hi! I'm glad to hear I helped a little bit. I am feeling pretty comfortable now. I have had quite a bit of skin dryness/peeling (I think from wearing my bra so much longer than normal), but I alleviate that through good moisturization. I am exercising comfortably--running, jumping jacks, etc. I'm still a little bit tender on the sides, almost like a bruise under the skin. It doesn't hurt when I'm just moving around, but it doesn't feel great if I press on the area. I'm massaging a couple times a week to encourage "dropping and fluffing." I had a couple of spots on my incisions that stayed open longer than the others, so my incisions weren't fully closed until 8 weeks after the surgery. Everything looks fine now, though.
Regarding my current size, I will be honest in saying that I am bigger than I hoped to be. My plastic surgeon was more conservative than we talked about before the surgery, due to his concern about tissue loss if he took more. I have about 25-30 pounds to lose, and he is confident that if I lose that weight I will be closer to my goal size in my breasts.
They look great. The scars are not nearly as noticeable as I thought they would be--especially the vertical incisions. My husband is very happy with the results as well, and he was rather nervous before the surgery.
Hope this helps, and keep your chin up during the recovery! I had a couple of "freak-out" moments in the first month, but everyone reminded me that my emotions were riding high.
@Ckmia you can also check out the "Any June Breast Reductions?" topic for a really good, recent discussion on the ups-and-downs of surgery recovery. Really good info that helped me out.
