Hi YEs I did get a lift too. The Doc thought he should raise my nipples, is the process he made the areola smaller and not as symmetrical. Not as good as they were in my opinion- but higher up which is probably a good move. The tight pulled area on the lower half of one breast is due to the lift too I think. I got none of the fluffing that people talk about. What ever- I am not going under the knife again. The itching is a sign of healing too. I was told to wear a support compression bra 24/7 for 6 weeks. I did this with small breaks- very glad when that part was over. Hang in there- you are at the early stages and will definitely feel better later.
Things change every day in the first weeks and months. Yes I was freaked too- It was awful. I thought I had a really botched job! And maybe my nipples could have been left alone and the bottom area of one breast is still too 'tight' looking. But it is getting better. Massage of the breasts helps. I probably waited to long for this. Your body takes a longer time to heal then you really think it should. patience
HI Your story is very similar to mine! 1st silicone implants in 83, replaced with saline in 98, Contractures- hard breasts in 2010. I am 56 too! I stressed out so much about what to do. I also had asymmetrical small breasts and have loved having 'boobs'. Sept 2010 I had the implants out and scar tissue removed. My surgeon and I decided to do a 2 step process. 1) Get them out 2) wait 6 months and see how I felt about re-implanting. That 6 months was really difficult. And I have decided to leave them out. It is 8 months after surgery now. The challenge has been in accepting myself with smaller breasts. This means most of my clothes didn't fit, although some looked better. I am a A cup and even AA on one side. yikes. However I feel much better. I am able to move freer- if that makes sense. I am not worried about hugging and people noticing unnatural lumps. THe transition has been traumatic though but is slowly getting better. First I went to a mastectomy shop and got medical grade implants that go into special bras. They look good and I wear this when I want to. Now I have found some calvin Kline bras that give me a good shape and are ultra comfy. Smaller breasts have made me feel more youthful and really I think I look better. Good luck in your decision. Ask me any questions if you want too.
Hi Can you tell me about a good padded bra? I as explanted in early sept after having silicone implants for about 18 years and then for saline for another 10 yrs. I had uncomfortable capsules, hard rocks, which was embarrassing when hugging. My PS did a lift during the surgery. I had left it up to him as he said he would look during the surgery to see if I needed it. Now I have very small scarred breasts. I do feel better- lots - but am still stressing about having very little breasts. It's a strange transition after so many years!
Hi newbaby1 I'm wondering - did you have capsules and were they left in giving you more volume? I had a capsulectomy and implant removal in Sept. Now I have very small breasts and considering what to do. It's hard to find a padded bra that gives any shape- I finally got one in a mastectomy shop and have an insert in the one side. I feel a lot better- no hard lumpy chest but maybe I will augment again.
