Jiggaboo, I think the first thing to determine is if they were really talking about an overbite. Most people confuse an overbite with an overjet, but a dentist or orthodontist can clearly explain the difference. An overbite is where the top teeth come too far over the bottom teeth, often times the bottom teeth are hardly noticeable at all or hidden by the upper teeth. An overjet is where the top teeth protrude, or stick out a bit. An overjet can be corrected with Invisalign, even if it is necessary for your orthodontist to cut slits in the trays and place attachments for rubber bands. A true overbite, would be a little more complicated as there is nothing to pull the teeth back up into the upper jaw with the Invisalign trays, although often times the bottom teeth can be adjusted depending on the cause of the overbite. So it is especially important to determine if you have a true overbite, or an overjet.
I move to tray 6 on August 2nd (2 weeks), then I'm guessing I'll need to give it the full two weeks to do its job. When they ran the clincheck, it was a noticeable movement of the teeth next to the two front teeth on tray 6, so hopefully that will start pulling them down some at that point and start closing the gap between the upper and lower.
There was some swelling, but it wasn't bad swelling, it was actually good swelling and I wish the final result had been like that. I still notice some improvement, but it was a lot more subtle when the swelling subsided. They say if you get it done regularly (not letting it go completely flat between treatments) that you have a better longer laster result, so I'm planning to redo both cheeks and chin at 9 months. I had some pictures up but decided that I wasn't really comfortable with that, as they can end up anywhere once they are posted online, so I took them down. But I would be happy to send you a couple of before and after pictures if you contact me through my profile with your e-mail address. Good luck!
Thanks for the review, I've been toying with the idea of botox for a few months and keep coming back to read updated reviews, and its ones like yours that have kept me away from the needle thus far. Just wondering, do you think it is the Botox product itself that is not good or was it injector error? Was too much injected? I'm most frightened of the anxiety and racing heart type of side effects, I know they will make anyone miserable and I don't have months of my life to wait for it to pass. Good luck, hope you feel better soon.
Well, I'm 3 days down now with veneers and attachments on my two front teeth and not having any problems. Not even a hint that the attachments will come loose from the veneers as I've eaten sunflower seeds in the shell today (using my front teeth to crack the shells apart), with no problem. So I don't think its the veneers themself causing problems but possibly your provider's technique at applying them. Good luck!
