I had to laugh at this comment, Cer. I guess it seems that way doesn't it. I'm not. Trust me. I am many things, but a sales rep, I am not! I don't have a preference on any of this. I even wonder at times if my results would cause someone to have this done and end up in the wrong hands and end up getting really bad results. Everyone has to make their own decision based on all they read and study and make the most informed decision they can. I'm just one case in a sea of cases.
You're right, Cer. You do have a right to show the flip side of what can happen. I just think there are so many variables that go into this that no one can say for sure what the results will be. My doctor did not have as aggressive of a Fraxel laser as some of the others I've seen here. I peeled, but only slightly. I think we all show many variations of results.
I don't mean to sound rude, but why do you still hang out on this board? If I had researched something and decided against it, I would just "jog on" as you put it. What do you hope to gain from posted all over the board and having "RealEvilFraxel" for a user name? If you happen to convince someone NOT to do it, then they will always wonder if it would have worked so they will always kind of regret that someone talked them out of it. The others who have had bad results don't need anyone telling them about it; they already know. I just don't understand your motive. I had people tell me, "Yeah, just wait a couple of years, that's when the real damage shows up." I am two years down the road and nothing weird happened. Now that you told us you didn't even have it done, that puts your posts in a whole new light.
I don't know why you keep saying, "Use your head". Did you use yours when you had this done? Times are different now. We can Google til our hearts content to find literature and reviews/ratings on procedures before we walk into have it done. I read all these things on here about how they were "deceived, not informed, lied to" etc. I repeat your words, "Use your head". RESEARCH, not only the procedure itself, but the doctor you choose.
There are so many factors that go into results there are too many to name really. The overall health of the patient, the type of procedure, the type of machine used, the intensity and number of procedures done, the skill level of the doctor, the length of time in between procedures, the condition of the patients skin, the care taken before, during and after the procedure...just to name a few.
I had Fraxel probably a couple of years ago and I am very pleased with the results. If you notice on here there is almost an equal split of those who think it is worth it, and those who do not. Actually, a little higher on the satisfied scale.
Where are your photos? I couldn't find them.
I don't know about that because I only had it done on my face. I have seen pics of others who had their neck done and it seemed to work, but I don't know for sure. :)
