I would definitely appeal...but first you should clearly understand what the criteria they used to reject you. I have BCBS and I believe my doctor told me that they have a criteria based on weight and height for min. tissue removed. If you don't meet the criteria than you are going to have to document your back pain.
Its frustrating but don't give up. I tried several years with Kaiser to get a referral to a plastic surgeon....and they referred me to physical therapy and nutrition counseling. I switched to BCBS and went straight to the PS and had my surgury within 6 weeks. My surgury was May 2011 and I had about 6 lbs of breast tissue removed. I felt the difference immediately. Good luck!!!
Congratulations on your decision! I totally agree with Kimmers25, I felt the difference immediately when I sat up in recovery. Now I have absolutely no back, neck or shoulder pain. Good luck with your procedure and keep us updated.
Congratulations on your approval! I'm sure you are going to love the results! I had my surgery in May and I love my new perky boobs! Your recovery is going to be tricky with the little ones----no lifting for a month! Please keep us updated.
I started wearing wirefree bras when I went back to work....at 3.5 weeks. I wear the sport bras around the house and to bed. My bra size hasn't changed since I bought my first bra at 3 weeks. I started wearing underwire bras at 4 months, but I seem to gravitate back to the wirefree bras. My incision underneath my breast still feels a little tender. I will discuss that with my PS today...I have my 6-month checkup today.
I don't have kids....but I understand the pouch. Dieting and exercise probably will not fix my stomach...I just have to determine if its worth getting fixed.
I went from a 40J to a 42D...I went back to my expensive bra shop and I was also fitted into a 40DD (I thought it was a little tight and they carried few bras with a bandsize over 40). Bra companies sizing aren't always standard, which is why it is important to try on bras. I just thought 44 t0 36 sounded odd...breast reduction changes the cup size not the bandsize...although they say most women wear the wrong size bra.
