Quick question, as I am thinking about rescheduling this over the next few weeks... have you given any thought to the fact that it will be so hot out while you are wearing your compression garment? And that you won't be able to swim for about a month in the middle of summer?
I hadn't thought about that but remembered that someone here posted thinking about that a while back.
THanks and GOOD LUCK!

Hi-
Just a quick question -you said you had a setback at 8 weeks - I'm thinking of going on a family vacation at my 8 weeks (if I schedule the surgery in the next 3 weeks). Do you think you'd have been able to travel at that point?
Also, does it totally suck to wear the binder in the heat??? Maybe summer is not the best time to do this, no swimming with the kids, big ole' binder on in the sweltering heat... yet I really just want to do it already!
Thanks.
Hi-
We are around the same proportions, I am imagining... I am 5'7" and 200 lbs. I have a 7 year old and twin 3.5 year old girls and really need to get these stomach muscles sewn back together! I'm also getting an umbilical hernia fixed with my full TT and lipo of the flanks.
I too was scheduled for May 5th but my babysitter just gave 2 weeks notice (day before surgery is last day) so I'm going to need to postpone.
You have such a great attitude going into it! My dentist, whose dad is a surgeon, told me that his father has always said that recovery time is up to the patient... it's all in the attitude. If you are stressed and nervous and negative, adrenaline goes into your system and slows the healing. So you are halfway there already with your positive nature!!! GOOD LUCK!

Just saw your post... your surgery is today! Good luck! I am about 3 weeks after you so hopefully by the time I have my surgery, you'll be up and doing the samba! Or at least standing up straight :)
Thanks for your reply. Did the full swelling last that long or just the last remnants? I keep reading about people who couldn't even fit into their pre-surgery pants for a few months... that seems counter-intuitive!! Have all of that fat and skin removed and then need BIGGER clothes! :)
Did you have the On-Q pain pump? My surgeon said his colleagues do but since he doesn't want the patient to overdo activity because they think they feel okay, he does not. I'm hoping to change his mind!
