Hey there,
You're right, bump removal seems easy enough, maybe he'd be fine with that. My revision was complicated and I paid almost 10k for it, even though like I said, nothing was really done to fix it. He only does closed surgeries, had I known better at the time, you can't do closed with difficult revisions.
I did go back to him several times..he just kept telling me how great he thought his work was; one day he'd tell me he couldn't do anything more, the next he'd tell me he could fix it. He didn't listen to me at all, and ultimately after every appt I left there in tears. I finally had to start taking my mom with me so she could confirm I was not crazy..he would say one thing one time and something completely opposite the next. His nurse assistant was so sweet...she would always tell me how scattered he was and how he didn't listen. Having him go into my nose for a second revision was out of the question in my mind..I saw no point.
After a ton of research, I went with Dr. Shah in Chicago and recently had surgery with him. It was quite extensive and involved grafts being taken out and rib grafts being put in, scar tissue removed, etc. My surgeon told me my nose was a complete mess inside. Like I said, going to Golden was a waste. I'm still healing, but so far so good..he's pretty much rebuilt my nose. I read the same on Toriumi by the way and would never go to him.
As for pics, besides the fact that I don't even know how to post pics on here, I'm honestly not comfortable posting my pics for the world to see, especially since I'm still swollen and healing. The issues I had as a result of my nose surgeries have been beyond traumatic and it's an extremely sensitive subject for me. That being said, I wouldn't invalidate what the other poster said just because they didn't want to post pics..some of us just aren't comfortable with it. Maybe I'll feel better about it when the swelling goes down! :)
Just a quick comment...I went to Dr. Golden for a revision...complete waste of almost $10k. Nice man, but completely scattered (think "absent minded professor)...said something different every time I went in and didn't listen to any of my concerns. He didn't do anything to fix me. I ended up having to have ANOTHER revision by a doctor in Chicago...he confirmed that Dr. Golden didn't do anything to fix my nose and that it was a wasted surgery (let alone over a year of my life!)
Kristy978, I'm sorry, I'm just now seeing your response to my previous post. Did you set a date for your surgery? Don't worry about your friends thinking your vain..you have to live with your nose and if you're not happy with it, then get it fixed. No one will understand unless their in your shoes.
Hi Kristy978, no, he doesn't do computer simulation. Sounds like this is your first surgery, I'm sure he'll do a great job! Mine was a complicated revision. For me, he just charged A LOT and basically didn't do really anything. His lack of ability to "listen" to what I was saying drove me nuts, and he kept trying to convince me I looked good after surgery, which I obviously didn't. In regards to the twighlight, I did wake up briefly in the middle of surgery but was so drugged up I didn't feel anything...just heard them talking. Once he realized I was awake he put me back under right away. You won't feel anything so don't worry about the breaking of the nose! Unfortunately, I've went through this 4 times already..just recently had my last surgery.
Kristy978, good luck with your surgery. Dr. G being all over the place has nothing to do with him going on vacation..he's like that pretty much all the time. He's like the absent minded professor.
