Not sure who you are asking but here is my opinion. I would talk to my PS about a permanent filler of some kind. Be it fat or the tear trough implants I told you about. I don't think they use Artefill under the eyes but there may be others, I just don't know. I know that I wouldn't want to be having to go back every 8 or 9 months for injections. Thats the reason I went with the implants. Since they aren't known by all your PS may not know about them. In that case you'll have to go with the fat unless you want to go to another PS that does the implants. Talk to your PS and see what he/she says. Hope this helps.
They are tiny implants that they put in the hollow under the eyes and tear trough to do what fillers do. Most people haven't heard of them and I hadn't either until I went to this PS. I had had fillers before and was very pleased but they only lasted about 8 mos. and I was needing again and I just didn't want to have to keep that up forever so opted for the implants. He also implanted (not injected) fat into my NF. They look great already even this early out!
I just had my upper and lower eyes done Feb. 16 2009. My PS doesn't do reguluar lower because of just what happened to you. He says it usually hollows you out more. He uses tear trough implants instead and has been for about 3 years. I can't say what my final result is going to be but I know that even with bruising and swelling it looks better. I seen lots of pictures of his patients who has had them and they look great. It is one reason I did it. I also talked to several. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. I am so sorry for what happened to you, it was one of my main concerns before my surgery.
I had the surgery Feb. 16th and so far so good. From what I can see thru brusing and swelling I am very pleased. Dr. Apostolakis in Austin TX did my surgery.
I have never had really thick hair but as I age, I'm 46 now, it is getting even more thin. I have learned to hide it with the way I wear my hair (big hair)and tons of hair spray. Forget going out in the wind and hope and pray you don't get caught in the rain. You and anyone that has this problem knows what I'm talking about. I have actually started looking into and thinking about getting a wig but after reading your story I'm thinking that maybe there is hope from a different source. Thanks so much. I can't wait to see your pictures and hear more from you.
