Hi! I'm doing well. The recovery for the first 2 weeks was fine....uncomfortable but manageable with meds and rest. I'm now 3.5 weeks post op and swelling a lot......but from everything I read here and what the doc says that's normal. The doc put me in the initial one after the surgery that zippers up the sides then after the drain came out they gave me 2 more that don't zipper but go from right below your boobs to below your knees. These are actually more comfortable because no zippers to dog into your bruised sides but you will need help getting them on for s week or 2. I go back a week from Monday and he said if all looks well then I'll wear it half days or go to just a stomach one. The pressure helps the swelling so let's hope the swelling stops soon!!!! When are you getting yours done? Good luck....I'm sure everything will be great!
Thanks. I did know it would be numb for months....especially reading all of the reviews. My pubic area is the most swollen but he said that's normal at least for another month. It did not hurt with the needle....because it is numb......but he didn't get much out so it's not fluid, just the swelling. It was quick and the nurse held my hand which really helps:-) This is a big procedure and I know it takes time...I'm a bit impatient as well but it will all turn out great I'm sure. I feel very weird as well without the garmet....just like you another 2 weeks and then switch to 12 hours a day and see how it goes. Good luck...it sounds like we are on the same page.
My doc prescribed me Lunesta before the surgery. He said it will help with a good nights sleep. I've tried not taking it a few nights and I end up waking up every few hours because I want to turn and lay on my side and I can't yet. Ask for a prescription for Lunesta......it is WELL worth it...!!!!!!
Your belly looks similar to mine...check it out, before and afters. So far I am 2.5 weeks post op and doing well. As far as diet you won't want to eat to much, especially anything with a lot of sodium, it makes you swell. I had protein shakes and some soup for the first few days and then you eat normal but you'll find you will eat a lot less because your stomach is so tight and the more you eat the more you swell. Once I take the binder off for a shower I feel like someone put a 10 pund weight around my waist b/c of the fluid. That's my only issue right now is that once the drain came out I believe the swelling / fluid build up all goes to my groin area and it hasn't gone away. I have an appointment Monday (same time that you'll be in surgery...you go girl) and they may need to drain the area, he was hoping it would absorb but we'll see. I'm getting around well but get really swollen after doing to much and then laying on my back is the only thing that takes the pressure off. Good luck with everything. You will do great and once it's done you will be relieved and glad you did it. Looking forward to hearing how everything went!
Hey...how are you feeling? I had mine on the 6th and am doing well. I definitely have swelling but my expectations aren't that high......they say a month to see the full results and it's only been 9 days. Are you wearing a binder/spanx every day?I'm definitely smaller and flatter so that's a good sign. Hope your doing well!
