You will need to wait for at least 6 months and even more after smart lipo to see the final results. My doctor could foresee the results and advised me to get mini tummy tuck done along with Vaser lipo. But I was very nervous and decided not to do at that time. In mini tummy tuck they focus on the tightening of the lower abs. I am left with a pouch in the lower abs which is not fat but the loose skin and muscles. I was 43 years old last year when I had vaser done. So these loose muscles and skin were holding the fat for at least last 15 years, they need to be fixed in order to get an absolute flat belly. I have made up my mind, not checking out for the expenses. I will have to spend my savings. About the downtime , YES it will be a lot more at least 2 weeks as compared to two days after vaser lipo. It is a major surgery and I am preparing myself for it. In your case and at your age you might not have as much loose skin and muscles, otherwise your doctor could have advised you. As far as I know smart lipo takes longer to heal, so you need to wait till the end of 2013. looking at your pictures doesn't look like you will need a tummy tuck.
