I know what you mean.. Definitely not invisible. I'm at two years when I was originally told my treatment would only be for one. Looking back I don't know how I got through it! But, my teeth do look so much better. Only one tooth remains stubborn and still not straight.. I'm scheduled for what's supposed to be my last appt on Monday! Use Effordent to clean the aligners - it works great!
I'm down to my last lower tray...finally! My uppers have been done for about a year. There's one last tooth on the bottom that's being stubborn but after two years of treatment I just want to be done. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the results and so worth the cost! I really wish we weren't required to keep wearing the trays at might though :)
Hi Megan.. My orthodontist told me that even with traditional braces you have to wear a retainer at night for the rest of your life in order to keep the teeth from shifting. Is that correct? Both my daughters had braces when they were young and they only wore the retainers for a period of time. I have noticed that my oldest daughter's bottom teeth have shifted a bit. She's now 39.
I'm not sure how long you're wearing the braces, but hang in there. I totally agree that they are life altering, but they work. I should have been done with my all day wearing last January, but I'm still wearing the bottom plate - both while sleeping, of course. I totally hate the thought of having to wear these things for the rest of my life, however, I hated the thought of having crooked teeth more and I get lots of compliments on my teeth. Good luck!
Well, I stuck with my "Preferred" provider and actually finished the treatment for the top and only about 2 more months for the bottom. The results are great! The investment was well worth it. It's so nice to hae straight teeth again. I do have to tell you - the idea wearing these things in my mouth every night "forever" is sometimes just too much to think about. Can't say I'm happy about that!
