I had it and it was a lifesaver for me! My friend had one several years ago after her C-section and swore by it. I did not have one after my C-section and boy, did that scar hurt while it was healing! With the TT, though I was tight and uncomfortable in the immediate post-op period, I did not feel the scar area at all! So different than with my C-section and this was a much larger incision obviously. I would highly recommend it!!
I know you are freaked out, but it could be nothing. And if it is something, you will deal with it and then it will be better - and at some point a distant memory (as you are flaunting your new body in a bikini!). Why don't you just call your PS's office and see him/her for peace of mind if nothing else? Good luck - I am sure all will turn out fine!
I had the same thing happen. At about PO day 10, I started leaking fluid from a hole in my incion and also from my bellybutton - I was totally freaked out! I saw my PS who said it was a seroma but that it was good/better that it was draining rather than forming a pocket. He also said that I had fat necrosis from the sutures in the area and that is what made the opening. He also opened up part of my incision, that I have been packing twice a day since then (I will be 5 weeks postop tomorrow). It finally seems as if it is getting smaller as we can get much less packing into it - hallelujah! It has been more of an annoyance than anything else and I am also jealous of those that healed without wound complications.... I am hoping to be healed in the near future. Luckily my surgeon is pretty laid back and has let me work, exercise throughout this. He even said I could go for a brief swim (!!) as long as I changed the packing as soon as I got out (have not done this yet b/c afraid of getting infected). Hope everyone heals soon!
Thanks for your reply! Just curious as to why no overhead exercises or lying down on bench exercises? I did do some of of these the other day with my trainer and felt fine (sore but fine). But now I am nervous.... Any insights would help. Thanks!
I had my TT 3+weeks ago and had a breast reduction with lift at the same time. I have always had very large breasts that just got more saggy with time, after pregnancies, etc. I am so glad I did my breasts as well. Mine were actually covered as a medical thing since they were so large and giving me back pain as well. I love my TT, but I actually even love my new breasts more!! I am glad I did it all at once and the recovery from the BR/BL was nothing compared to the recovery from the TT. Good luck with your decision.
