hey Ya-Ya1582 - this is for u.... i posted awhile back and i am going to post again - bc from someone who has had their nose down 3x's (the third time being a revision 20! years after all was said and done), i totally am going to wish u the BEST!!!! however, PLEASE PLEASE get several, if not more than that - like at least 4 - different opinions/consults! even at the cost of 100 or 200 $ per consult, it will still SAVE u a ton of money from making second mistake - and by second mistake, i do not mean the REVISION - i mean choosing the ABSOLUTE correct MD!!! my story is that i had my nose done twice in my early 20's - it looked really really good, but as yrs went by, i developed a big bossae - which abt 11 months ago, i had fixed (my 3 revision). yes, in hindsight, i am not so sure it was the best idea (i did it bc a family member basically convinced me it was a good idea). however, it is looking MUCH MUCH better as of late, and the MD was EXTREMELY careful, which i am super grateful for. another person on this blog emailed me for this MD's name and i glad sent it to her. and though i realize u prefer to stay west (and this MD is in boston), i am only putting it out there bc i would hate to see u not end with what you want... i think it is at least worth your time to explore talk to other MDs - i am myself an RN, so i clearly understand the medical field and what can possibly go wrong! trust me, i am only writing this bc i totally get what u mean abt being treated different after the fact - and it is heartbreaking to some extent. so again, although i probably should have completely ignored my family member's advice, i went thru w/ my third revision, and yes, overall it is looking tremendously better - and i am still a month away from my one year mark (and supposedly noses continue to change as time goes on, which is essentially true, as the nose is a organ and would continue to undergo changes). and yes, this MD does take out of town patients, as i recall he did people from europe! please feel free to email me personally for his name (i feel funny writing it on this blog) and in addition, i researched a couple of other names (also on the east), which i would be happy to share! and not but not least, i agree that that is a crazy amount of money - the person who did my nose in boston is not only reasonable, but he is fairly realistic in what he tells u he can accomplish (meaning i did not feel like he was blind-siding me for the most part). so that's it - if nothing else, i wish u the ABSOLUTE BEST LUCK - u truly deserve to get the best result possible - my strongest strongest advice would be that u get at least 4 (even 5!) opinions, to make sure you are almost completely totally comfortable/confident w/ the MD u choose! :)
hi! hope everyone had a great holiday! anyway, a few people have mentioned they have had revisions etc - anyone willing to share who they went to and/or are seeing for consults? it would be so so appreciated if u could share! thanks!!!
hi - i wanted to jump in and add some words. to the person who posted the photos - yes, a revision can definitely help. i had a primary done yrs ago, and although it was not perfect, i was fairly happy w/ the result. however, as i got older, there were some minor things that, like some cartilage knucking on one side of my nose (in person, it looked fine, but in photos, it looked kinda weird). in any event, i underwent a revision w/ an MD in boston, mass, and while i can't comment for sure whether i think he did the best job w/ my revision - it is ok, an improvement to some extent...(again, i am only 10 months out, and there are def days when i wish to god i had NEVER EVER had this revision), but bc i think i understand how unhappy you are, i am simply offering my advice, and would def pass along this MD's name if you are interested. again, i liked my nose before and should not have done the revision, but after having read your plight, i think u def need to do research before having ANY revisions and i am certainly willing to share this MD's name. i am certainly hoping my nose changes as time goes by, and the changes i am hoping for are (seemingly) small.
