Yes, I definatley wear my garment when I workout. MY ps said I didn't have to but it just makes me feel better, nice & secure. My swelling comes & goes, on some days nothing but on others it seems to gradually increase throughout the day and is worse by night but by morning nice & flat again. It doesn't seem any worse after exercise. But I do notice it does swell if I eat a big meal or have a few too many drinks (& I'm not talking water ladies !!!).
Wanted to share some thoughts. I am nearly 10 weeks post op from TT & BA..
Exercise - I got the all clear at 7 weeks to go back but to take it easy & listen to my body. I love my outdoor boot camp and have done 5 sessions in the last 2 weeks with walking on the alternate days. My advise is definatley to ease yourself back into it, I feel fantastic but have not pushed my abs yet. I have mainly concentrated on legs (squats & lunges) and arms (boxing). Oh & starp those boobies down good to protect them!!
Stitches - I had what I thought was a pimple on the incision line of my breast. It wasn't painful just annoying. At my 6 wk consult my PS informed me it was an undissolved, dissovlable stitch. He removed it easily and told me it was quite normal. So dont stress just let your PS know.
Scar therapy - my ps did not want me to use anything until I was 6 weeks and then start massaging the scar with Bio Oil. He also gave me some silicon scar gel to use on any red or raised bits. I love the Bio Oil but to be honest the scar gel doesn't seem to be doing anything.
Anyway, these are just some of my experiences that I thought I would share, in case it was helpful to a fellow realselfer.
My final advice is keep your mantra as "we are all different and there are many versions of normal".
You poor thing, I really feel for you. Try and stay positive (I know its hard) but I am sending you good thoughts and hope things start to improve for you.
Hi Kitty, I was in for 6 nights but mainly because my hospital and PS were 5 hours from were I live so my ps wanted me close. I am so glad I was there for the first 3 days, I dont know how so many of the ladies on here go home right after the surgery. But by day 4 I was so over it and just wanted to come home so I think 3 days will be just right for you.
Hi, another Aussie here! I am 8 weeks post op and even though I will need to have a small revision, it is still the best thing I did and wish I had done it years ago. good luck with your surgery, not long now.
