Great post. One thing I noticed, tho', is that my lashes seemed to be longer with Latisse than with the generic. A doc posted somewhere on Real Self that there was a different product (might have been Lumigan) that seemed to be slightly better than Latisse. It's subtle-I.m sure only I notice it. Lashes on one eye are longer than the other, hmmm. But both sweep into my glasses so I'm satisfied. I do have eyelid darkening (I have glaucoma) but view that as a plus, no eyeshadow is needed.
Here's the sleep tape link. She only makes CD's. I downloaded it to my computer and then put it onto my iPod. Love your yorky. My 3 pounder died last October and I now have a rescue Silky.
Something I forgot about my surgery-the corset you have to wear for awhile (I really didn't). Is that something that someone can put on themselves? My husband did it for me when I wore it and I never tried to do it myself.
I had one done in '97 associated with a hysterectomy for large fibroids. During the surgery, I almost bled to death (due to waiting so long for the fibroid surgery) and had a recovery of several months getting back my strength. The day after the surgery I was walking the halls and the OR nurses came up to see me because they couldn't believe that I would be able to do that. I also took no, absolutely no, pain medication in the hospital because I was trying to prove a point to myself. I had prepared myself for the surgery with a pre-surgery hypnosis tape (I'll tell you the link if you're interested) and credit that with not having much pain. Having said all this, your recovery should be no big deal.
I had heard that it would be hard to sit up and down in bed so bought a very expensive lifter so I would not have to strain. Never used it. I suggest that rather than the bed, the first few days you stay semi seated on a couch with pillows under your knees and behind your head. I did it for about three days. It was quite comfortable. Also at this time, I availed myself of lots of Percocet. It's one of the benefits that goes along with this surgery so you might as well enjoy it.
I admit that the drains were gross. Luckily, my husband is an M.D. so he took care of all of that. I know that you can do the drains yourself-lots of women do-so you just have to be motivated enough. I think I could do it myself now. The drains stayed in just a few days-less than a week.
I have a gross scar which I attribute to not healing well after blood loss. However, I was playing golf (still wasn't healed) in about 6 weeks post op.
This was not that big a deal. The recovery isn't going to be anywhere as bad as you think.
