Dear Glad it's over, My pouches are still there but are less apparent after much massaging in an attempt to stretch out the jaw muscles and skin that were pulled too tight on the sides of my face near my ears. I still regret my decision and all the money I wasted. It is hard to live with but with time and massage things have improved somewhat. I totally empathize with you and wish you the best of luck!
Thank you for your comment, Chellamia. My pouches never totally went away. I believe now that they are buccal fat pads which were there before but not noticeable until I got the mini face lift. I do not look terrible but I think I looked better before and wish I had had the courage to age naturally. I would definitely not do the mini face lift again if I could turn back the clock! Best of luck to you.
I am three weeks post midface lift. I still have some hard swelling in my outer cheeks near my ears which I am not worried about as I know that can take three months to resolve. What I am concerned about are the soft pouches of edema on either side of my mouth. They are very defined and have not gone down at all with time. They give me a very odd appearance. I would much rather have natural old lady jowls than this younger but bizarre and unattractive look. My doctor says it is probably lymphatic fluid that is not draining. Has anyone else experienced this and does it go away when the hard swelling goes down?
Many thanks for any help or information anyone can give me.
