Isn't it wonderful to do something so fabulous just for you! I was like you and waited about the same length of time and my only regret is that I waited so long. I couldn't be happier and it has been the best thing I have ever done for myself and I know that you share those same feelings. For us ladies of a certain age, it is a celebration for all the things you mentioned. Just think, bathing suit season is just around the corner! Congratulations! You deserve it!
I am sorry that I was not able to reply to you when you first wrote me. Were you ever able to locate a doctor as my Dr. relocated but is back in the area so I would be happy to refer him to you. Let me know if I can answer any questions or help you in any way.

Really, are you wearing a binder? The swelling is completely normal as the lymphatic system has to re-establish itself. This is where the fluid drains downward and if I didn't wear my binder or at the very least some compression garment, I was very swollen. My Dr suggested that this would help keep the swelling down and I found this to be true. It is a process and I believe it took at least a good 6 weeks before the swelling wasn't an issue. Everyone is different I realize but I would suggest checking with your Dr.
Congratulations on going forward with something that will be totally for you! My daughter is 31 and I had my TT last year and I feel fabulous. My only regret being that I waited so long to do this for myself. Strangely my daughter wasn't very happy with my decision yet I went ahead and did it without telling her. One thing important my Dr. told me was to surround yourself with people who will be supportive and it sounds like you have that handled. (; Take extra special care of yourself. You will look and feel on top of the world!
Spanx makes a wonderful product that would help you, and in fact, this is the kind of garment most recommend after you come out of your binder. This will act as a compression garment in some instances and they do have one that reaches the thigh area. They are expensive but if you look online you can find them for half the price on the popular auction site. Take extra special care of yourself and try to keep your spirits up. Don't be reluctant to call your Dr's office, after all this is part of the entire process. Pamper yourself a little and realize that you have been through a "really big surgery" as my Dr. called it. Just remember to take care of you during this healing stage. You deserve all the TLC you can give yourself!
