Did they say how long you would have to wear the retainer for? If they move within one day it sounds like the retainer may need to be indefinitely?

I was told during my invisalign consultation that I still may need to wear fixed braces (train tracks) for 2-3 months to finish off the treatment! my othodontist said everyone gets told this is a possiblity to get the best result, is this true? obviously it has put me off, I wanted things to be as discreet as possible.
