    I had by chin and jowls done in Oct 08, I was swollen for months and still have a little more swelling to go. The swelling and lumpiness started to really go down a the 3+ month mark. Be patient it really does take time. But is worth it. I hope you are extremely happy with your final results.

    I had smartlipo on my chin & neck & jowls in Oct 08, finally seeing good results, lumps have mostly gone away, one very small one left. My skin is tightening still and the doctor told me yesterday I still have a little more to go before fully healed. One tip he told me if I an still tender in spots then I am still healing. Hang in there it takes awhile to heal fully. I hope you get the results you are looking for.

    SanJosewoman: My apologies for the delayed response. I went to Dr. Daryl K. Hoffman, he has offices in Los Gatos and Palo Alto, he is great! He is very low key, but is amazing. I am still waiting for final results, but very happy so far. My procedure was Oct 2. I only did my neck to start and it was $3500, very competitive for the area. I took 2 pain meds total and had no pain, just a little uncomfortable, like pressing on a bruise when touched. One day off work, but did not really need to. He is really great at telling you what to expect. Good luck and let me know if I can answer any more questions.

    In the beginning I wore them every minute unless I was eating. As I got to the end I started to keep them out a little longer after lunch and dinner, but I always slept with them and now I only sleep with the retainers each night. As long as your teeth are moving along the way the dentist wants and the new trays you are given fit well without extreme pain, my thought is your okay. My coworker has them wears them much less then I do and she seems fine, still has straight teeth. But it never hurts to ask your dentist how you are progressing without giving up that you may not be wearing them 24/7. Hope this helps a bit.
