Looking at your pictures again, 2 months later, I realized something, I didn't have stitching like yours, mine was dissovable and internal I think she said, because there was no stitch marks on the outside, I think that's why it scared me at first because I wasn't expecting to see actual stitches since I didn't have any.
I'm almost 2 weeks post op and I am still not driving yet. I have been cleared to drive, but I personally am not comfortable to drive. I think I'm recovering pretty well except for a little set back which was a blood clot finally making its way out.
As for my bending, I do not bend at all, just squatting if I drop something, since it hurts to try to bend. As for stretching it's not too bad. My boyfriend whom I live with helps me a lot with everything.
I used benadryl to help with the itching and the occasional ice pack. I did get cleared to use these by my doctors, so I would make sure of that first before you use them in case your PS doesn't want you using them.
As for the hard as rocks, I never experienced that since I was smaller than you were I think, but perhaps someone else will know or maybe your PS will know. I hope it's gets better! :)
Anyway, I wore my steri tapes for almost 2 weeks. And then my PS gave me a new tape to put on for the next two months.
I can't give you an information on it either way, but I hope that it doesn't irritate you too much.
I guess if your doctor says it's important, it probably is to try to keep it on. Although several months is a long time for steri tape, unless it;s a different type of tape.
