Dawn,
You may be trying to help, but your words are rather harsh. For heaven's sake, she had the same treatment you did! (The difference here is that your skin improved as a result of treatment while she was left with ulcurs that leave scars...a big difference!) Passing judgement on a stranger's reasons for having any type of procedure is treading on shaky ground. Awalk is hurting! She has sought out help from many dermatologists who have been unwilling or unable to help her. I agree that it is easy to look in the mirror and see flaws that others don't notice. We are often our own worst critic. However, Awalk is dealing with something that a simple antibiotic and gaining a little weight won't cure. Please be kind.
Were you warned not not take aspirin or ibuprofin before hand? If you used these medications, this may be the cause of your problems. Also, I have found that applying ice packs immediately after the injections, helps to minimize bruising. Sorry you are having so much trouble. This too shall pass!
The fact that your surgeon would not presribe antibiotics is ridiculous. From my own experience, it is common to receive an rx to ward off infection even before a procedure is performed. The Fraxel Repair suggestion is even more ridiculous.
On another note, be kind to yourself and try to have hope for the future. I know that some days just getting out of bed is a feat, but you have proven how strong you are by sharing your experience and warning others.
It sounds like you are on the right path in finding a skilled dermatologist. I pray that your troubles are resolved quickly.
