I just had one of my pre-op planning sessions with my PS. I will be going back again on Saturday morning and my surgery is next Friday. I had to sign a ton of papers. I was given a huge amount of information to review at home. My PS went over each procedure I am having and answered all of my questions about each procedure.
I was a little disappointed to learn that my PS does not use pain pumps. But I will be in the hospital for 36 hours and he uses morphine to keep the pain under control. He also said I should take all the meds he proscribes for two weeks after surgery. I guess it is expected that the pain will be gone by then. Lets hope!
I was told that I should be able to stand up straight within 3 days. I can't lift anything including my kids for 4 weeks. I can't resume my normal workouts for 6 weeks. And no pushups or bench press for 1 year! (This is because I am getting implants placed under the muscle).
I have to wear binding garment for the first 6 weeks at all time except for sex and showering. The docs words not mine! I can't imagine I will be thinking about sex while having to wear a girdle 24/7.
I was told to discontinue use of all vitamins except for a multi-vitamin. I asked about Vita Medica Recovery Support Program and was told it is a waste of money and that he will take good care of me and give me anything I need to heal.
I was warned not to weigh myself after the surgery. PS told me to expect to have a lot of bloating immediately after surgery due to all the fluid they pump in during surgery. He told me I could weigh up to 10 pounds more after the surgery, but that it will all be water weight.
Let me know if you have any questions as I will be going back again on Saturday for my last pre-op appointment.
Hi. I am having a mommy makeover on March 4th. I will be having a fully TT, breast lift w/ implants and lipo. I am so excited and nervous at the sametime.
