Not not at all. My first reaction was pain and I told them I was in some pain and they pumped my IV with more meds :)
I've been under anesthesia before and both times my main reaction was being incredibly cold when I woke up.
Although, I have heard of people being very nauseous (like my mom) when they first wake up. If that's been your reaction before, make sure to tell your doctor so they can be prepared.
Or your doctor may prescribe you Phenergan along with your prescription pain killers and antibotics, like mine did. If that's the case, ask your doctor if it's okay to bring it along with you in case you wake up after surgery and feel sick to your stomach.
Thank you so much for sharing YOUR story :) It's always nice to know you're not the only one with those thoughts or feelings.
I will say, I really thought that getting this surgery would help my self esteem...but I've always heard people say "Plastic Surgery isn't going to make you feel better about yourself...only YOU can make yourself feel better about yourself". I always waved them off and thought "those people" were crazy.
Sadly, I'm learning how right they are. For a month or so after my surgery, when I could still notice the change in my body, I was quite happy with what I saw. But, now that I'm "used to it" I'm finding I'm acting/thinking the same way I used to, which is frustrating, to say the least. I have to look back at my "before" pictures to remind myself that I look different...because now when I look in the mirror, I feel I look the same I did at the beginning of the year, prior to surgery.
Also, I find that I'm a bit harder on myself when I break my diet or skip too many workouts (even though, most of the time, I miss workouts because I travel so often for work recently...messing up my diet is all on me, though) and gain a pound or two. I feel like I'm "throwing away thousands of dollars" because I'm blowing it.
Just wanted to throw that out there, as you sound exactly like me. :)
I will say, if you can, BEFORE you get your surgery, loose some weight on your own and try to start feeling better about yourself and your progress...because, I can confirm that the theory that no surgery is going to correct self esteem appears to be true. :(
I was planning on getting a breast aug with small implants in addicition to my lipo, but then my trainer was telling me that we might be able to start training to fight competitively, so I thought that I shouldn't do that just yet as I'll be taking some hits/kicks to the chest (and I really want the augmentation WITH implants).
Maybe one day I'll get that done....kinda peeved as my trainer hasn't been training me as much as he promised...so I probably could have gotten them done in Jan. :(
Thank you so much! It's getting a bit harder to stay positive as I don't see much change between two weeks post op and now :( So thank you for your comment :)
I actually didn't lose much weight...maybe 2 pounds. I lost a lot more inches than actual pounds. I went down a whole pant size.
I'm currently 145lbs at 5'5"...I think, before the surgery I weighed about five pounds more than that (but that was probably because I wasn't able to exercise and wasn't eating properly).
Good luck with your surgery! What all are you getting done and when is it?

Well, I'm 6 months post op, so I pretty much feel completely back to normal :)
