Thanks for the update! Glad to hear that it worked and you got to see what it can look like even though it was expensive and temporary. Did you do Juvaderm or Restylane? Do you know how much your dr. used? I'm thinking I should start very small and conservative to start. Also, when you say "you can see it", what can you see? Visible scar or lump? It's interesting you say that you have to get botox to freeze your forehead because I was thinking maybe I should get botox to freeze the forehead which might help lower my eyebrows so that my eyelids won't looks so high and hollow. Thanks so much again for sharing your experience and knowledge.
Could you explain more about hyaluronic acid? I have hollow eyelids from too much fat taken out. I am scared to go under any invasive surgery again (it's been about 5 months)so I would love to learn of another route to repair this.
I'm suffering from hollow eyelids after double eyelid surgery but my doctor keeps on telling me it's swelling. It's been almost 5 months. It's pretty clearly hollowed eyelids from too much fat taken out. What kind of doctor should I go to get fillers in the proper places to repair (albeit temporary) the hollowness? I feel like I shouldn't have the dr who did the surgery further mess up. You seem to have experience and knowledge so I appreciate any advice.
An update and caution:
I ended up going to Dr. Kwan for incisional method back in December 2010. My eyes swelled up and bruised and it was kind of horrifying. This lasted for about 2 months. He kept on saying that I happen to be an edge case that swells up a lot. Things settled out somewhat, but it has been 4 months, but my lid lines are still very high. I realized that the hollowness in my upper eyelids are not going away. It's not due to swelling. It appears that he has take too much fat. He kept on saying, give it time, give it time, but my eyes do not look like what they should after 4 months. It seems that I need to get a revisional surgery but I don't trust Dr. Kwan so I need to find another doctor. He has been quite evasive and dismissive and would never admit to a botched surgery. I know sometimes mistakes happen and it may be a rare case, but you should know this if you are going to have him perform surgery on your eyes.
Thanks for your prompt post! I got an evaluation by Dr K who said $3000 and i was thinking about going with him.
Sorry to hear that you think the fold is too small. Are you going to get it fixed by Dr k? He recommended making an incision about 5-6mm (i think) above the eye to make it the most "natural" fold. He said people go higher but he didn't seem to recommend it. Perhaps he's very conservative?
Also, how long did it actually take for you to feel comfortable going into work/see friends? Trying to figure out how long I should take off, realistically. I know it varies, but I'm wondering if 10 days is enough. Hoping to get it done over the winter holidays.
