I had the fraxel done last september..Recently when I spoke to my doctor who "fixed" my sinuses...he said he didnt think the fraxel was worth the money..he is also a cosmetic surgeon..but does not do fraxel becaue of the reason above....I was quite happy with it..but after discussing it with him I went ahead and had the co2 laser done around my mouth and lips..and it is way better..of course it is a more invasive procedure..and takes much longer for the red to go away...but I kind of wish I had waited and done my whole face with the co2 instead of the fraxel......
In Tears...I think the surgeon took out too much fat...when one has large eyes they always seem to have more of a hollow underneath and as we get older it obviously shows more...and taking out too much fat contributes to the hollow effect...it is the same thing once again...a talented surgeon..or one who just isnt..!!!!
Find another doctor to perform the surgery....
Gosh this all sounds so "iffy" knowing my luck if I had this done I would end up with the bumps many of you talk about...I know that the Doctor who injects must have artistry because anyone can stick a needle in there and inject but getting it to look good is a huge difference...and none of those injectibles seem to last on me..and they dont fill in well either, I have little scars on the side of my mouth and as collagen has decreased they look like ugly little wrinkles..I have had a couple different injectibles but they dont really make a big difference, I think it is more the placebo effect that keeps me going...keep trying to hold back time..lol...I need to find out the name of the surgeon that did the lovely fat transfer on Cathy G...she looks fabulous..now thats a doctor with talent and artistry...
PS - Sharon,
My face was red and tingly slightly sore for a few hours, it was not painful after the procedure...I didnt even really need pain pills and slept fine that night..However my face was quite pink for several weeks after the procedure..mainly when I became warm or working out...
Dr. Welch has done many of these procedures...a dermatologist is professional dealing with skin conditions...they deal with skin cancer patients every day...Just because a doctor is also a plastic surgeon doesnt necessarily mean he is adept at every procedure, let alone laser...Just check credentials with whoever you go with...find out about their experience...
I can only talk about my own situation...
It has now been four months and my skin does continue to look better...But dont expect miracles..it isnt going to erase all the lines, crinkles and years from your face...but greatly improves it...Of course any procedure comes with concerns, and rightly so....it is our face we have to be sure and explore in depth the pros and cons........you have to think about it and decide what is best for you..
Until there really is a Fountain of Youth we do what we can to look better...lol..
