SmartXide is effective for acne
scars. The first time I had modest
improvement, the
second, much better.
I had miserable acne
scarred skin. It takes 4 months after
the SmartXide to see
results, be patient.
When your doctor tells you that you can apply some makeup, try one with a green
tint; it will reduce the red-looking skin to a more neutral skin color. Don't get discouraged
when the swelling/redness is gone. It does take about 4 months for the smoothness to
show. I've had two mild treatments (wimp that I am) to reduce acne scars. It did work
for me. I'm 73 and my skin isn't so elastic anymore. I'm really pleased. My husband
would really freak out if I looked like a peeling tomato. Good luck.
My doctor had me clean with a weak vinegar solution and apply Aquafor (or similar) to
protect the healing skin and keep it from drying out too quickly. I had antibiotics and
an anti-viral. I didn't have blisters, just some dots and swelling. I started to go out in a
week with lots of special sunscreen on--a Renova product was recommended. I have
heard of others with blisters that hat the treatment at a higher setting than I did.
I had more swelling around the eye area than elsewhere and it lasted the longest, about
a week. I didn't have festoons but some dots did ooze a little for the first day after the
treatment. All was fine in a couple of weeks, maybe the slightest bit of swelling. The
real change in appearance was about 4 months afterwards, then, WOW, clearer skin.
I totally agree with you on the 6 months, but things
are better, noticably so. I'm glad you reminder us all
of staying out of the sun. Use and reapply sunscreen
frequently--I do and have seen the benefit as I have a
horse farm and need to be outdoors much of the day.
My trainer has lupus and also applies a lot of
sunscreen so we encourage each other.
