Some dermatologists do not and will not use laser to treat Melasma. I have tried everything under the sun EVERTHING including laser. Before the Melasma appeared I frequently got laser treatments with fantastic results. Right now my doctor advises no laser. Im treating my Melasma with Ret-A, bleaching cream, Vit-C cream and most importantly sunblock with zinc UVA/UVB protection, a wide brim hat, umbrella, sun protective clothing, gloves, sun glasses, avoid the sun like the plague and I STILL HAVE MELASMA. Some days it looks a little light than others. IT'S STILL HERE. I dont know what else to do, it's ruining my life. I avoid going anywhere I dont have to. I look older than I am. It's a slow death. What!
Yep with great results (fraxel but not for melasmal) then somehow melasma creeped upon me and boy its incredibly difficult to get rid of (understatement) it's ruining my life and self confidence gone out the window for the past few months treating w/ bleach and 8hr mask treatment no results well very little wouldnt mind the cost if something actually worked no laser for a minute b/c heat activates melasma still working on it makes me look older than I am bummer ;( guess ill inquire about VIT b3
I recent had a tca chemical pell. Not worth $$ or down time. Didnt work for me. In fact, my face looks worse, same brown spots and melasma still there. Very disappointed. Bleach not working either. Omgosh. Now what. Laser is very painful. Several treatments work over time, but very painful.
