Did you get this problem resolved?

Unfortunately, people with dark lips are not good candidates for lip tattooing. I know that there are a few practitioners in the US that seem to have been successful with it, but it is not advised by the Society for Permanent Cosmetics Professionals which is the largest professional organization for cosmetic tattoo pratitioners in the world. It is generally ill-advised to try to put a lighter color over a darker color. Where do you live? I may be able to find someone who can do this or correct it. I would not go back for your touch-up and you could also ask for your money back. I have been doing permanent makeup for eight years and I tell clients that I cannot do it and few can.

I have an art background which is why I decided to do permanent makeup after retiring from teaching. I would never do eyebrows from stencils. There are many really good practitioners in this business and many really bad ones. Strange that a plastic surgeon would recommend a person lacking both skill and talent. If you decide to do it again, get a consultation first and ask to see plenty of pictures of the practitioners work. You decide if you like the shape and color before it is tattooed.

Having a tattoo on your face is a very serious decision. I have not read Nancy Parker's book, but I have very well educated opinions of my own. I take a lot of pride in my work and I am also very conservative on the initial procedure. A good practitioner understands eyebrow shape, individual facial morphology, and color as it shows up with your natural coloring. I have a degree in art and a very good "eye." Even with my natural ability, working with skin in this way has a high learning curve (especially on the face where you want it subtle,) and it took awhile for me to get really good. Fortunately, since I was conservative, I made no permanent mistakes. It's a personal decision. I have it myself and I love it.

I was actually thinking about your comments the other day when I had an eyeliner client come in and she told me she washed with Physohex (not sure about the spelling) and her eyes flared up and burned. She didn't use it for a couple days and then tried it again and the same thing happened. I'd never heard of the tattooed area being agitated like that before, but I was wondering if you are using any kind of product or soap on your skin that could be agitating it somehow. This shouldn't something you have to live with.
