Update...Once a month my butt got red, hot and swollen. I was getting sick then this happened, REAL SICK. I was in bed, with a fever, chills, sweating, I felt like I was going to die. I went to see Dr. Norman Schulman in NYC. He put me on a strong dose of dicloxacyline (spelling?) for a month. I didn’t have any problems for 6 months. Then I swelled up again. I went back to see Dr. Schulman and he put me on a dose pack steroid. It made the swelling go away. It came back again recently now we are doing Ketalog (spelling?) steroid injections, to reduce the swelling and scar tissue. He thinks I have fat narcosis. I am so grateful I found a doctor who has experience treating this. Whenever it swells up, I call him right away because in the past the longer it went on the larger the swollen area got. I will keep doing the Ketalog (spelling?) steroids and see what the result will be. If I have to have it taken out then so be it, I know I will have scars and look a mess but my health is much more important.

Try a few things before you jump to getting it removed. Antibiodic, light steroids like a dose pack, then try Kenalog injections in the hard area.
