I did the same thing four weeks ago. I had my husband for the first week. But from the second week, I took care of my 2 year old. As you know, I have to lift him otherwise he gets angry. My breast is still sore. I do not know if it is because of lifting my kid. Anyway, I would say you should wait until the kid is at least 3-4 years old and understands why mom can't not lift him. If you have a helper, it might be great. But I did not want to tell others that I had the surgery. Good Luck.
