  Mike D, Please help me, I have been living a nightmare with these huge keloids on both ears. I had keloids when I was a kid from ear piercing and it was horrible then, I was always so ashamed and afraid someone would see them if my hair moved a certain way. My grandmother had them removed after 6 years of embarrassment. I was so happy. After years and years of no sign of a keloid, I got my ears pierced again. 10 years later after I got three more holes in each ear, they started to feel funny and I instantly thought about how ashamed I was years ago, so I took out the earrings and the holes closed up my ears felt normal again...whew, I was even left with the normal holes from 10 years ago. A year later I was pregnant and all of a sudden the holes that had closed up started to feel swollen and keloids were forming, soft keloids and small, but once I had the baby the swelling went away along with the keloids. Hurray! Pregnant again and this time those keloids started and never stopped even after having the baby they grew it seems like everyday, it has been a nightmare ever since. I have not had my hair up in my favorite style, a ponytail, in over 5 years. I am going crazy, It is so hot and I look nuts because I wear anything that will cover up these huge keloids. People think that I am nuts, because in 110 degree weather I will have a scarf, or furry hat on, sweating like a pig, but I cannot show these horrific keloids. So tonight I put the bands on and I was in tears because it hurt so bad, they were turning purple already, but I took of the rubberbands, I didn;t make it more than an hour, I took 4 advil pm's and they didnt work at all. I am going to try again, I have been researching and researching and this is the only option. Please let me know how many days does it take for the pain to subside, if the string is better than the rubberbands in your opinion, I used rubberbands and it hurt soooooooooooooooobad, also what medicine did you use? thanks, keloidkrazy
