Allergic to surgical tape so was glued (using dermabond?). Week 4 glued tape removed, ends of incision on both hip started itching and welting. Small blisters, spread to almost entire incision. Told to start moisturizing, got worse. Actual incision is fine...just alongside the top and bottom of it. PS put me on a 6day pack of prednisone and I switched from nivea to aveeno. I'm on day 4 meds now and areas seem less inflamed. Itching less intense. Any idea on why? And any advice? Thx in advance
I am 20 days post op extended TT and Lipo. I have been healing wonderfully. My only complaint is that I am suffering from terrible sciatica that keeps me up at night. I saw an ortho who prescribed me a 9-day regimine of prednisone. Can I take that now? Im on no other meds anymore.
I had an abdominalplasty 2012. Now suddenly, for about a month, I've had significant swelling and pain all throughout the entire surgical flap area, incisionl, vertical muscles are very painful, and flanks sore where liposuction was done. The swelling and pain are so bad that I feel like I just had surgery and can barely do anything without pain and further swelling. GP did bloodwork including ANA normal. PS has no idea what is wrong. I started prednisone today. What could this be?
Would abdominoplasty be ok for me since I am 5'5 230 pounds? I'm taking enbrel by injection once a week. But since I was taking the prednisone I got the dreaded potbelly look going. I was always smaller but the prednisone ballooned me up and as hard as I try I always look like I'm 6-9 months pregnant. My body looks weird and I get rashes where I can pull my belly. When I sit it looks like I'm wearing a life preserver it's so embarrassing and I can't lose it at all. Would I be a good candidate?
My inhalers aren't working well enough. My family doc said sometimes the tube inserted during surgery can irritate asthma and he gave me a 5 day course of Prednisone to take to clear it up but I'm scared it will interfere with my recovery.
