i had a tummy tuck 3 years ago, now i have a scar and reddish to purple skin all around the scar. How can I treat the discoloration around the scar? I can see the thin line that my surgeon told me I would have, it is very small and almost invisible, the problem is the red purple skin across the scar. Would a laser treatment work best? I used contractubex, and it helped a bit but the purple is still there so I'd like to go with laser or whatever treatment is needed to remove the scar/purple skin?
I had a TT two years ago and Im fairly happy. My question is, about six months after surgery a discolored patch of skin thats also rough in texture appeared in center of my stomach above belly button. No one can diagnose it. If I used glycolic acid the roughness goes away but the discoloration remains.Im wondering If laser might help and if anyone knows what this might be?
My plastic surgeon retired shortly after my surgery. I'm African American brown to fair skin 3years post tummy tuck scar area is very dark in certain areas and breast lift scar areas wide scar with slight hyperpigmented discolorations. 2 out of 5 local plastic surgeons are suggesting surgical scar revision for both areas, 1 medical laser technician wants to try Halo laser with alpha hydroxy bleaching agents and a few Doctors say nothing can be done. What is my best option to improve areas?
I am 3 weeks post tummy tuck, wondering when the scar color will fade? Will it change from dark to red and then to my skin color? Also when can I start massage on the scar? My doctor told me to continue using the dressing for 3 months. Is there any treatment can make the dark pigmentation disappear quicker?
I had a tummy tuck 10 months ago. Ive had issues with the colour of the skin in the center of my stomach since the procedure (area circled in pic). When I work out or shower, this area is very noticeably darker than the rest of my skin (seems to be related to heat). Ive recently started tanning and the same area will not tan as much as the rest of my skin, which is fairly noticeable in the pic. What is going on? Will this improve?
I am 55, 126lbs. My weight hasnt changed since my procedure. I think that my procedure didnt work for some reason. I had a small bump before the surgery and I still have a bump, its just lower. I am so disappointed because now I also have scars! Also, I hate my belly button! Its discolored, bumpy and looks unnatural. It had been 6 months since my procedure. What do you think went wrong? What can I do to get a flat tummy?
I had 360 lipo with a full tummy tuck in Oct 2020. I have a weblike appearance on both sides of my waist. I asked my doctor (rated #2 in Florida) and he said he wasnt sure what caused it or what we could do. He was going to ask around. I have been trying cocoa butter for a year. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I had a TT with muscle repair about 9 months ago. On a few occasions when I've been hot, my midline developed strange discoloration. It looks almost like deep bruising. It goes away when I cool down and it doesn't pop up every time I'm hot. It's not painful. I still have mild discomfort when I flex or use my abdominal muscles but nothing unexpected and consistently improving over time. Have you ever seen this? Do you know what caused it? Is it anything I should be worried about?
I had surgery 4/20 in the DR and developed a hematoma approximately 2 months post-op. I F/u with PCP who stated watch it. 2 wks after appt. the area was red, swollen, and had an abscess. I had a Tummy Tuck 6 months ago, and my belly button is very dark and big/swelling. What caused this, and can this be corrected? Is there a topical treatment that can make it return to its normal skin color? Would I still benefit at this stage from using a silicone sheet for my scar? Thanks!
