I (32F) have lost 85lbs through diet and exercise (Im 50; from 190 to 102) and am considering a TT. I want to know which of the following pre-surgery body types would garner the best results/most skin excision: 1) being at your ideal body weight/BMI, or 2) being at your target body fat percent? Ive noticed I have a smaller waist when my BF% is lower but weight is much higher (due to muscle), compared to a larger waist (with more subcutaneous fat) when my weight is lower, but BF% is higher.
Hi, as a child I was obese and when I was a teen I lost a lot of fat and gained a lot of muscle mass since, Even with a low body fat % I can't see any six pack. Assuming someone has already a decent amount of muscle and has little fat, would a tommy tuck help me look shredded ? Like looking exactly like someone shredded / extremely lean that never had to deal with loose skin? Or will it always be less defined than someone who was lean all his life?
I have reached a healthy BMI weight a few months ago and maintained it.I Don't look lean and might have a body fat of 18-20%, I want to do my tummy tuck now, but then after I heal and after the pandemic, I plan on going to the gym and training properly (weights and cardio) to lower by body fat to 10% and have visible abs. Is this an ok plan or will lowering my body fat percentage ruin the results?
I have lost 118 pounds and have been at my goal weight for almost a year. (I am 52 and 131 pounds and 51 years old). I lift heavy and weight train hard but for the last 9 months I have made almost no progress in reducing body fat percentage as calculated with a bio impedance device. Ive used several, so I know its at least somewhat close. (30%). My bodyfat percentage is NOT moving no matter how hard I weight train and Im not interested in losing more weight. Like can I expect to lose say 5% bodyfat
I'm 5'9 and I weight 145 pounds. My body fat percentage is 26. I lost around 50 pounds in the last 5 years and, although I am healthy now and I'm mostly happy with my body, my belly area is not as tight as I would like. I work out 4 or 5 times per week and I have seen some improvements, but the lower belly and the area around the belly button are very problematic. Would I be a good candidate for a tummy tuck considering the amount of skin I have? Or can I correct the flaccidity with constant exercise?
I am considering getting a tummy tuck, but I am concerned about the lengthy and painful recovery. My problem is not a belly bulge or loose abdominal muscles. I simply have excess, sagging skin left over from two 9 lb babies. My stomach is flat, I have low body fat, and I'm at my ideal weight. I just hate the unsightly sagging skin. Will the fact that I don't require extensive fat removal or muscle repair make my tummy tuck surgery less extensive? I don't think I am a candidate for a mini tummy tuck because I have sagging above the belly button as well as below. What do you think? Thanks!!
49 year old female. lost 120lbs through diet & exercise alone. weight stabilized at 140 - 145lbs since May 2016. I stand 5'1 body fat is 18%. I have been told that a traditional abdominoplasty will not resolve the excess skin on my back, but I met a woman recently who had a Fleur de lis tummy tuck & her back looks amazing! (she had gastric bypass & is about 15 years younger than I) Will a Fleur de lis tummy tuck resolve both my abdomen & back excess skin problem?
I had an extended TT, no lipo, no muscle tightening Had seroma, was aspirated 3x a week and 9 times in total before the seroma stayed away. Now I am free of seroma, but I am disappointed. Pre-Op my surgeon warned me that the scar would end up higher than normal. I did not care, as long as my tummy ended up flat. But I am not flat. My body stores no fat below the incision, but does above, and there is no gradual decrease. Will lowering bodyfat% help to look better ? Will this get better ?
