I have clear retainers that my orthodontist gave me & I was wondering if I could use these to help me whiten my teeth with the whitening gel and UV light or would it do harm to the retainers ?
Hi, can I ask if frequent scaling and polishing (4-5 times a year) to remove tobacco stains cause your teeth to wear down? I wear my nightguard and retainers but I still feel as if there are mini gaps forming after frequent scaling and polishing sessions. Please advise.
Which is the best tray material to use for teeth whitening? Most whitening tray materials are thin and seem to fit fine. But, I have also heard some doctors tell patients they can use their retainers or Invisalign trays for whitening. Wouldn't that material just push the gel out?
I used the old NiteWhite 16% but now use DayWhite 9.5%. I went to use it and followed the instructions of brushing and flossing my teeth then applying a small amount in the appropriate places in the tray. But the second I put the tray in my mouth I felt a burning/bubbling sensation and took the tray off to find that the section of gum in between my top front teeth were white and irritated. I waited a good 30 minutes and was more careful but still burned my gums again. What am I doin wrong?
I recently whitened my teeth at the dentist office and they sent take home trays. My bottom retainer caused some stains on my teeth over the years and I was wondering if it is okay to wear my retainer. I currently brush it before I put it in and I recently cleaned it with peroxide. I would hate for it to stain my teeth again especially since my teeth are currently prone to staining easier.
I'm going to remove braces next week and get fixed retainers. I wonder if i can apply whitestrip while i have those retainers. Will the whitestrips do anything to the retainers? Or is it ok to get teeth whitening done at the office after i get my retainers?
I want to do it before my senior portraits for high school (finally!). I've had braces for almost 5 years and my orthodontist gave me permanent retainers behind my teeth with the glue (not sure what it's called) and a wire after he removed my braces. I know I can't use baking soda at home to whiten my teeth because it wears away the glue, but can I still get my teeth professionally whitened? And this has nothing to do with whitening at all, but I really want to become a dentist in the future(:
