Scarring

Scarring results from acne, surgery, piercing or an injury.  Scarring is a sign of skin repair, yet many scars refuse to fade.  Raised scarring, hypertrophic or keloid scars, may remain visible for a lifetime. When home scarring treatments fail to fade the scar, a person may visit a dermatologist.  Professional scar treatments include dermabrasion,  laser resurfacing, and steroid injection.  Which scar treatment is worth it?  Read scarring tips, Q&A, and reviews by RealSelf.com community members.
