I have acne scars and a laceration scar for which Id like to do a CO2 laser treatment(s) to smooth out the texture of my skin. Im okay with any downtime, just looking for the best result. Is there a difference in the strength of the CO2 between the SmartXide Dot C02 and the SecretPro by Cutera? I know SecretPro also offers RF but I would go with the Dot if its stronger. Thank you!
What is the difference between these 2? I think Smartxide Doc & Fraxel Repair are both ablative fractionated lasers. Is there any difference besides manufacturer? Also, what pain options are usually given with a CO2 laser treatment - eyes v full face? I had my lower eyelids done w/ only topical, b/c doctor said injections of lidocaine would increase swelling. What is normally used for full face? Do you ever administer IV sedatives or is it mostly done with injections to the face? Thanks.
I'm scheduled to have CO2 Smartxide laser resurfacing in a week. Is there any risk of fat atrophy with this procedure? I have read devices such as Thermage, and others which generate a large amount of heat, can destroy fat cells. I had fat grafting in the face several years ago and do not want to loose a gram of fat. What are the risks?
2 months post and absolutely no results. Skin took 2 weeks to heal was told high settings. Have very deep lines around the mouth, fine lines around the eyes. Sadly myself and others that are following my journey are not seeing anything happen yet. I would like to repeat procedure because I want improvement> Dr says it takes time and agrees another treatment could done soon. When can this be done safely? Winter is a much better time for me to do this. Please give me your Professional opinions.
I'm thinking of having SmartXide to address severe sun damage, facial wrinkles, enlarged pores, and rough skin texture. How much downtime can I expect with SmartXide? I cannot afford a lot of downtime, and someone told me SmartXide downtime is not as long as that from laser CO2 treatments.
At this time, there has been no sloughing of skin on my face. I was swollen initially, but this has gone down maybe 75% or so. Face darkened a bit, much like a blotchy sun tan, but no peeling. Not even dry, scaly feeling. Aesthetician (sp?) was pleased and said not everyone peels, but I thought that was the purpose of this procedure, to unearth the new and clear skin underneath. I understand the long range goal is to build collagen, but did I possibly just get a wimpy peel?
I was told by my dr that the DOT Laser kills the sabaceous glands where the laser acutally contacts the skin. I was also told that it helps to reduce the amount of oil produced and removes acne scarring. Is this an accurage description of the acne benefits of the DOT laser?
Which between the CO2 Dot therapy and the Sciton Profractional Laser would you recommend for wrinkles, sun damage, and skin tightening? Which of the two has less down time and provides best results? Are there any risks on these lasers? Thank you!
